ID:WOOD project successfully completed
LJUBLJANA, 06.11.2014. – With the Final Conference, held in Ljubljana, attended by Ivan Rimac, Director of the Development Agency Hrast, Ivan Ambroš, project manager and Zvonimir Petrić in front of the Vukovar-Srijem County Wood Cluster, project "ID: WOOD - Clustering knowledge, innovation and design in the wood sector of South East Europe", funded within the EU program of international cooperation between the countries of South East Europe (SEE) officially ended.

On the project with a total value of 1,699,763 euros have participated partners from nine European countries: Italy, Austria, Slovenia, Romania, Bulgaria, Hungary, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia where in the Vukovar-Srijem County area project activities were implemented by Vukovar-Srijem County Development Agency Hrast Ltd.

The Overall objective of the project is to encourage innovation and competitiveness of SME's in the wood production sector in South East Europe by sharing and transfer of technical and organizational knowledge and involvement of local organizations to support entrepreneurship (wood clusters, wood technology centers and development agencies) to solve the structural weaknesses of SMEs in order to increase the innovation potentials of the manufacturing sector.

Within the project, experts from the Faculty of Forestry in Zagreb have created an analysis of the wood sector in Vukovar-Srijem County, workshop for wood processors Open Days in Vukovar-Srijem County was organized in Vinkovci, cooperation agreement between the Styria Wood Cluster and VSC Wood Cluster was signed, experts from the Faculty of Forestry in Zagreb have stayed in two day visit to wood processors of VSC and international conference was held in Opatija.

Ivan Ambroš from the Development Agency Hrast and Zvonimir Petrić from Vukovar-Srijem County Wood Cluster have finished an international training for cluster manager (Cluster Manager Course) which was organized in a period of four months in Graz (Austria), Pordenone (Italy) and Ljubljana (Slovenia). They also participated in courses about innovations and design in Belgrade (Serbia) and Sibiu (Romania).

One of the project valuable activities was establishing an informal network ID: WOOD partners with the aim of continuing cooperation and joint preparation and implementation of similar projects in future.
