5 Slavonian counties in the project Slavonian Network
OSIJEK, 30.06.2014 - In the premises of the Tera Tehnopolis, a meeting was held related to the preliminary design of "Slavonian network" - project aimed at making broadband network access to the Internet in the whole of Slavonija and Baranja. The project will be implemented in the area of five Slavonian counties, covering a total of 22.1 percent of Croatian territory, or more than 800 thousand inhabitants.

The meeting with the Rector of the University of Osijek Željko Turkalj attended by representatives of Slavonian counties, together with Josip Đukić from Vukovar-Srijem County and Ivan Ambroš from the Vukovar-Srijem County Development Agency Hrast.

The project "Slavonian network" will be nominated for financing from EU funds early next year, estimated value is over 21 million euros. So far, the project was presented to local governments and certain arrangement of spatial plans.

The project leader will be the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, University of Osijek, and the project partners are five Slavonian counties.
